案内 How to spot a mislabeled Yu-Gi-Oh listing
A checklist for Japanese listings that call an Ultra a Secret, skip color versus mono, or use a shop’s buy price as the sale price.
A wrong rarity word is how a ¥5,000 Ultra gets listed next to an ¥18,000 Secret. YAC1, released in Japan on 26 September 2026, is a clean example because Konami printed the same names in several finishes. The prices below are from the sheet dated 27 September 2026, not from today.
Match the foil, not the English word
- Gold name, flat picture: Ultra Rare. On YAC1 Blue-Eyes White Dragon the color Ultra’s working band was ¥4,500–¥6,000.
- Holographic name, sparkle on the art: Secret Rare. The color Secret’s working band was ¥15,000–¥20,000.
- Embossed gold picture: Ultimate / レリーフ. Not Secret, even if the title says both.
- Rainbow across the whole card, and the number is JP001–JP010: it may be Prismatic Over-Frame. JP004 worked around ¥15,000. Several other Over-Frames were shop cards under ¥3,000. Read the number.
- A serial number: Grand Master Rare. No day-one retail was recorded. A huge ask with no serial photo is not a market.
Read the set code
YAC1-JP073 is Blue-Eyes White Dragon. YAC1-JP004 is 神を超えたしもべ-青眼の究極竜, a different card. Listings that say “Blue-Eyes Ultimate” can mean either the English name of the White Dragon’s fusions or this Over-Frame. The Japanese name decides.
YAC1-JP003 is ハーピィ・レディ-華麗なる分身-, the Over-Frame chase. YAC1-JP082 is the manga Harpie Lady. YAC1-JP049 is Harpie Lady SC. “Harpie Lady secret” is not a description.
Color and mono
Manga cards say カラー or モノクロ, or they are hiding one. The mono Blue-Eyes Secret’s working band was ¥7,000–¥10,000, not the color Secret’s band. If the title skips both words, ask. Do not pay the color price for a mono photo.
Prices that are not sales
- 買取 is a buy price. Shops post them because they want the card. The YAC1 sheet kept buy prices out of the working estimate on purpose.
- An opening video is a first-hour number. CardStack’s color-manga video had Dark Magician Secret at ¥7,980 while shop and flea figures sat near ¥3,000–¥3,500. The sheet did not pretend the video was the market.
- A Mercari alert that names “Blue-Eyes” and a price, but not YAC1, not Secret, and not color, is not a comp. One ¥9,999 alert was left out of the color Secret row for that reason.
Paste the title into the checker and then open the matching price page. If the page does not exist, we do not have a sourced figure. That is different from the card being worthless.
Questions
How can you tell Japanese Ultra from Secret in a photo?
Ultra has a gold-foil name and a picture that is not holographic. Secret has a holographic name and sparkle across the art. The title is the less reliable of the two.
What does 買取 mean on a price?
It is the price a shop will pay the person selling the card. It is not the price you would pay to buy it.
